Ryan Spencer – USPTA Professional
Ryan is a Katy, TX native and achieved a ranking inside the top 20 in Texas junior tennis. His collegiate journey began at Division 1 Kennesaw State before transferring and finishing his playing career at UT Tyler. He holds a master’s degree in athletic administration from Mississippi College, where he was the Graduate Assistant. In his college career, Ryan earned recognition for his achievements on the court including being named to the All-Freshmen Team in the Atlantic Sun Conference. His success continued in the American Southwest Conference, where he was named to the All-Conference Teams for both singles and doubles. He was also named the ASC Sportsmanship Athlete of the year. His combined singles and doubles collegiate tennis record stands at 134-54, and he qualified for the Division III National Tournament in doubles in 2012. Previously, Ryan served as an Assistant Tennis Professional at Cascades Country Club teaching group and private lessons to adults and juniors. He then served as the Head Tennis Coach at the University of the Ozarks and most recently the Assistant Coach at UT Tyler. During his time coaching at UT Tyler, he helped steer the men’s team to a conference championship and a national ranking. Additionally, Ryan was teaching private lessons to local players at UT Tyler. Ryan brings extensive playing and teaching/coaching experience to our program.
Tai Kikuchi – USPTA Professional
Tai works with juniors and adults and is the Junior Program Coordinator for Hollytree. He also runs our Adult Beginner program (Quickstart). Tai has been at Hollytree for over 15 years and has an immense passion for teaching tennis. He enthusiasm carries over to his students during lessons and classes with students ranging from young children to seniors. Tai also manages the racquet restringing for Hollytree CC. Tai was born and raised in Houston, TX and is fluent in English and Japanese. He started playing tennis when he was 5 years old and was self-taught by his parents and by age 7 he started stringing rackets. During his childhood and teen years, he started competing in Junior tournaments in the US and played a few, as well, in Tokyo, Japan. When he was 17, he started teaching at John Newcombe Tennis Ranch in New Braunfels, TX during summers and also at Texas A&M Summer Tennis Camp in College Station, TX. After graduating high school, Tai attended Tyler Junior College where he played competitive tennis and received an Associate degree in Engineering and graduated from the Tennis Tech Certification program.
Eduardo Lourido – USPTA Professional
Eduardo is a USPTA Certified Professional and joins us from The Country Club of Birmingham where he has been an Assistant Racquet Sports Professional for the last two years. He was actively involved in the adult and junior tennis program teaching lessons and clinics to all levels – including nationally ranked junior players. He was also teaching lessons in their growing pickleball program. Eduardo played collegiate tennis and graduated from Samford University. In his senior season, he earned All-Conference Team accolades and became an ITA scholar-athlete. After graduating, Eduardo became the assistant coach for the men’s tennis team at Samford. As a junior, Eduardo obtained a world ranking of #285, was top 10 in South America and was the #1 player in his home country of Ecuador. Eduardo will be assisting with all aspects of our program and is one of our Junior Development Managers.
